Elegant White Pumpkin Tablescape

White pumpkins are so beautiful.

So for the first day of Autumn I set this tablescape for two.

Water goblets, wine glasses, salad and dinner plates, candles and napkins.

Black and white plates.

I made these napkin rings.

Candles and ivy.

The pumpkins steal the show.

Cinnamon and Orange Autumn Dessert Cheese Ball with Ginger Thins

October 26th is National Pumpkin Day!

I am celebrating by sharing a Cinnamon and Mandarin Orange Dessert Cheese Ball, shaped like a pumpkin and served with thin ginger cookies.

To make the dessert ball: Combine 16oz cream cheese with 1c. powdered sugar, and add 2-3 chopped mandarin orange slices. Mix in a mixer and turn out onto a plate with 1/2 c. cinnamon.

Spoon cinnamon over the cheeseball and then, with washed hands, roll into a ball. Stop as soon as it begins to become sticky and place on serving plate.

I topped it with a stem from a sugar pumpkin from our garden, and sugar pumpkins in stores are inexpensive right now.

The cookies are thin ginger cookies, I have seen these cookies everywhere and they are delicious!

Served for dessert with ginger tea, this is a lovely treat, rich, but not too sweet.

Pumpkins from twigs {Tutorial}

Inspired by all of the twig pumpkins I have seen in stores lately I set out to see if I could make one. It was harder than I imagined but through a little trial and error here is what I came up with:

Gather branches, ones that have a lot of branching to them will do the best. 

For a small pumpkin you want about 6'' branches for a larger one about 12''. Take about 3 of them lay the stems even to each other and make a loop.

Secure the loop with craft or floral wire.

Make at least 6 of these per pumpkin. And it is important that they are all about the same size. Trim any branches that stick out.

Put all the loops back to back with the top stems sticking up in the middle and secure with wire.

Spread the loops out to help hide the wire in the middle.

Free Printable Autumn Banner

Fall is almost here so I created a fun free printable Fall Banner.

I printed them on scrapbook paper in "fallish" colors.

And they are pretty cute on plain white paper too.

Cut slightly larger backings from card stock using scrapbook edging scissors.

Just a drop of hot glue ate each of the corners to secure to backings.

And a thin bead of hot glue straight across the top to add ribbon.

And hung them from the cute cup hooks I have in my kitchen.

Then from the menu at the top of your browser select 'file', 'page setup', landscape and 'print'. If you have trouble, make sure you have fully magnified the photo and are printing as landscape. You can also try saving them to your paint program and then printing them or to your desk top and print as you normally would for a document or photo.
